We run so Avery can Walk!Valentines day 2006 was a much anticipated day for Gabe and Josephine Anderson. Their first child Avery was finally here.
Avery had been diagnosed before her birth with Congenital Hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain). There was nothing the doctors or Avery's parents could do until she was born. Two days after her birth Avery went in for her first Neuro Surgery. She was given a Shunt to drain the liquid from her brain. Unfortunately, she suffered permanent brain damage resulting in Cerebral Palsy and a number of other illnesses. For more information on Avery see http://jaandersen.blogspot.com/2010/04/school-meeting.html - http://jaandersen.blogspot.com/2009/03/neurosurgeon-appointment.html http://jaandersen.blogspot.com/2009/02/flash-back-friday-shunt-surgery.html - Avery requires 10 therapy sessions a month, at a cost of $75-$150 per session the cost has surpassed her families abilities to pay for treatments. She has not received any therapy sessions since January, 2012.
Avery's first "Long" WalkOn Christmas day 2011 Avery took 75 steps unassisted. For a child that was never supposed to have taken one step, 75 is quite an accomplishment and a credit to the many doctors that have helped her. The therapy works. Please help if you can.
Thank you, Bryan Keele, President Accounting Techniques, Inc. Avery and Bryan at the Finish!
